In light of recent news coverage about the tragic murders involving innocent children I have really been researching and discussing with others the death penalty for people who commit heinous crimes. Personally, I believe murderers should be removed from our society just as a person would remove a deadly cancer from their body! That being said, I am not at liberty to write an entire article on this subject just yet because I am still studying out the biblical and constitutional implications of capital punishment. Both the Old and New testaments* support capital punishment, as has the Catholic Church throughout history** (even before the Great Schism of 1054).
